the not ending yet journey : breastfeeding

lama dah rasanya tak tulis cerita2 berkaitan ngan bf kat sini..but tonight as i tengok little captain dok tido ni, rasa sayu pulak dihati..rasa berdosa ngan dia pun ada sebab cuba 'menafikan' hak dia..kalau korang baca the previous post on breastfeeding that i wrote here, i think it was about me trying to wean him off the breast. that's what i'm referring to denying his rights.

to be honest, i cuba macam2 cara untuk stopkan rafique from breastfeed few months ago..atas alasan, he's two. he should be more independent now. dan alasan utama adalah, i'm tired n stress. seriously! just imagine masa tu tengah n  ak prepare proposal for my phD and when the dateline ah mkin dekat nak ubmit, i can't do my work. sebab rafique asyek lahhh nak mengempeng aje.. kalau dia dah tido sekalipun, dia akan bangun balik just after few minutes i start buat keje. x boleh nak tinggal langsung. dia macam ada sixth sense telling him that i'm out of the bed. nak buat kerja time dia tak tido lagi lah jangan harap...i bet you mummies agree with me. selagi anak tak tido, it's just an impossible thing nak menyapu.ni pulak nak baca jurnals or buat writing. end up we do colouring je kot..

and now while writing this, i rasa macam i ni kejam sangat letak garam
, asam , vicks, minyak gamat, nescafe kat nipple dengan harapan rafique will refuse to be breastfed.. but he is such a straightminded boy. he really knows what he wants. regardless of the cabaran yang mendatang, selagi dia cakap dia nak mimilk, nothing can stop him! selamba je dia mimilk while i dh letak vicks banyak gile kat N.panas kot tu! hai lah anak..i harap that 'semangat waja' he will keep that forever in his life. insha allah.

so, after few attempts yang on and off kejayaannya, i sedar apa yang i buat tu hanya menambah stress je..proposal pun kelam kelibut, plus lagi stress nak wean off rafique. that makes me keep my mind straight, I WILL NEVER EVER FORCE HIM TO WEAN OFF. biarlah dia sendiri decide when the time comes..and alhamdulillah today, he's no more that kaki mengempeng boy. i feel so relieved. at least i can spend few hours at night with my papers lepas dia tido. dia akan bangun lagi for mimilk at 6 usually. sleeping straight from 10. that's my boy! thank you sayang for being such an understanding baby.

wajarkah barang anak pertama diwariskan kepada anak kedua dan seterusnya??

sejajar dengan kempen jangan membazir yang telah dilancarkan oleh i, maka i have 2 pairs of rafique's shoes to let go..hehehe..alhamdulillah...crocs sudah berjaya dijual..moga2 tuan baru crocs itu akan menyayangi crocs hot chilli itu as much as rafique love the shoes (walaupun tak sempat pakai)..

terima kasih pada yang sudi e-mel tanya pasal measurement, close-up photos so on and so forth..at least i know ada market untuk menjual pre-loved shoes ini..daripada membazir dok peram takde orang pakai, lagi baik dijual (at cheaper price of course) kepada orang yang boleh pakai..ye dok?? 

thus, sempena hari raya yang bakal menjelma, maka i nak let go another 2 pairs of shoes..juga pre-loved supaya Rafique boleh melaram dengan kasut baru di hari raya nanti..^_^  (mode: mak cheapskate u ols..) both of these shoes are preloved. worn for about 2-3 months..since Rafique dah tak pakai, maka di peram saje dalam kotak.

i just love the Trudy n Teddy so much..even cakap ngan hubby macam tak puas tengok Rafique pakai that shoes but then he already outgrown the shoes. i even think nak pergi beli the same design with bigger size! hehehe.. and hubby obviously memang setuju lah sebab he love loafers too!!and apparently he have a pair which looks very similar to this T&T..konon sedondon ngan Rafique la..

harga masa beli was RM 120 kalau tak silap. 

2) Adidas sneakers

this is how it looks when it was new..this is his very first pair of hard sole shoes bought as his first birthday present!

kalau tak silap original price was RM 110++ camtu..

i can't remember the size, measurement and details of both shoes..that is why entry ni nama dia teaser..wakkaka..teaser tapi banyak gambar, cemana tu??hehhee..dari takde idea nak update blog cerita ape kan..maka, iklan lah dulu sket2..

i'm gonna let these go at a bargain price! Trudy n Teddy looks very new..pakai gi shopping mall and kenduri for less than 15 times i rasa..honestly takde kotor or cacat AT ALL!! sangat sesuai bagi mereka yang nak cari kasut raya cantik untuk anak berumur around 1- 1 and half year old kot..roughly laa..sbb Rafique was wearing that shoes when he was that age. as for the adidas, i dont really recommend for raya..unless you bukan seorang ibu cerewet..and this will go at a very cheap price for a pair of original Adidas..i promise.

we don't plan untuk menjadikan kasut2 kesayangan Rafique ni as tukun kat rumah as we yet to plan for the second junior..and maybe bila dah ada second junior nanti, trend dah berubah kan..kot orang pakai kasut kaler gold ke masa tu..sian pulak 2nd junior tak ikut trend semasa..hehehehe.. lagipun, i rasa macam unfair lah kalau anak no2 nanti semua dapat brg 2nd hand dari abang dia je kan.. sikit2 tu aci lah...hehehe..

hurmm..kalau korang pulak camane??barang2 your first child semua disimpan to be inherited to the next babies or kasik orang je?? 

fun with alphabet ideas

i am now obliged in introducing Rafique to alphabets and numbers..as hubby was'nt agree about the idea of buying Rafique the alphabet lacing play set for safety reason,  i am now googling for ideas to make the learning sessions more fun..currently we just use the alphabet foam mat as you can see in his playroom and poster other than drawing/doodling method..well, i'm not creative enough to create my own games..cilok from others are much easier for me..;D

so, here are some ideas that i got from my "research"..

cornmeal letter discovery..

maybe we can replace the cornmeal with flour..ke benda yang sama je sebenarnya cornmeal dengan flour tu eh?? hurm...

and this new idea of painting..menarik juge ni..we have water colour that is yet to be opened. sebelum ni i banyak guba crayon je with Rafique..sometimes, colour pencil pun guna..tapi sebab Rafique suka throw the colour pencils, i prefer crayon.

the magic letters.. yang ni macam ala2 discovery..maybe i can just used sponge/brush..

alphabet playdough play.. playdough pun dah ada kat rumah..cuma cutter tu je takde..kalau tak jumpa alphabetical cutter pun, maybe we can just use the playdough to shape the alphabets..hope Rafique will enjoy it..=)

cukuplah 4 ni dulu..these are the activities that i think suit Rafique's age and suit the sources we have at home now..ada banyak lagi activities that i am so eager to do with Rafique later when he's bigger. let's try these first..good luck to us!

tips : kat mana nak beli buku murah?

today will be a wordy wednesday as i'm gonna elaborate about what makes my Monday was not a blue one this week.. =)

you can get english novels which usually berharga rm30++ each at NO MORE THAN RM20 EACH!!!

syorga dunia ok...some even less than RM10. kalau tak caye sila double click gambar kat bawah to read the   hanging price tag!!

i memang mabuk kepayang kalau tengok buku ni..especially books for Rafique..sebab these days i read more of his books compared to mine..sendiri punye yang dibeli masa Bad Warewolf book sale last year pun ada yang masih belum habis dibaca..plus i ni tak boleh dibiarkan baca novel coz i tend to ignore other things in my life bila i dah hanyut dalam novel tuh..hehehe..i'll only aware of my surroundings bila novel tersebut dah habis. that's why i dah slow sket ngan novel sejak mempunyai anak ni..karang anak nak makan minum pun i dok sibuk ngan novel jer...parah jugak kan..

children's books memang heaven lah kat sini..murahhhhhh sangat..you all pun tahu kan books yang cartoon characters harga super mahal punyer..sebijik buku Thomas, Mickey Mouse etc tu can cost you up to RM70-80 each kalau kat other book store.. i tahu lah.. sebab i memang selaly try to avoid those books sebab rasa macam mahal gile weh..dah lah i ni dasar tak reti nak beli sebijik. kalau beli nak banyak ajer..and  yesterday i bought Thomas & friends counting book at RM17.90 ONLY instead of original price RM 39.90!!MORE THAN 50% discount wacakap lu...tak yah nak tunggu big bad wolf sale bagai dah after this, everymonth lah nampaknya i akan berpergian ke situ..

and i bring these home...

at less than rm90!!! 8 BOOKS AT LESS THAN RM100 is reallyyy reallyyy reallyyyy WOWW!!!

paling berbaloi adalah ''You Having a Baby" tu..original price is RM70++ and i berani bet kalau u pergi other book store you won't get that book at less than RM50...and i bought it at RM17.90!!seriuslyy rasa nak pitam tengok harga buku2 kat sini..murahhhhhhhh yang amat. dan dan tu jugak rasa, kalaulahhhhh i dont need to balik kampung this week, of coz i'm gonna splurge moreeee than this yesterday..Dora yang pinky tu actually set of 4..RM15 JE kalau tak silap (yet not more than that)..original price around RM30++.. bought it for my cousin's birthday..Pepper series tu harga dia RM3.90 each.

next month i will definitely terjah lagi..sape nak kirim angkat tangan! i caj rm1 for each book.aci tak??wakakaka..

jadi, ape lagi u ols, sila terjah ke BookXcess kat Amcorp mall ye..

cuba bagi idea kat saya macam mana nak deco playroom under low budget.. ^__^

ini adalah playroom rafique..atau lebih tepat lagi stor mainan dia..sebabnya, bila nak main, dia hangkut semua pegi ruang tamu jugak..sempit je pun..jadik lah dari takde..

kotakk Breeze kat hujung sebelah kanan tu ada berisi segala saiz dan warna bola..rarely lah balls semua tu dok dalam kotak..selalunya bertaburan serata alam..org lain satu padang, 14 player main sebijik bola..in rafique's case, 1 org player, 14 bijik bola..hohoho..tamak haloba.

bakul hitam tu nama dia miscellaneous..wakakaka..segala mende yang rasa nak dump kat situ sumbat jer..tiba masa nak main, korek lah sendiri.. then, his rak buku..in which i need to susn elok2 sebelum amek gambar..takde makna lah rak buku ni nak bersusun elok macam ni di hari2 yang biasa..tonggang terbalik dikemas Rafique..

the blue rack berisi Cloth Diaper's Rafique, art's material (kaler pensil, krayon etc) dan juga mega blocks kat bahagian atas sekali tu..mega blocks hanya boleh dikeluarkan di hari cuti saje. ibu tak larat nak kutip tiap2 hari..hehehe..kalau letak rak paling bawah, nescaya tiap2 ari dia korek dan keluarkan dan tabur..

 his rides..and paintingss..sebahagian painting lah sebenarnya..poster tu ada 3-4 keping sebenarnya..tapi 1 je lekat..yang lain, Rafique cabut..nape tah dia saket hati tengok posters tu dok kat dinding..tak kacau laluan di pun sebenarnya..tak paham lah ibu anak oi...

 this is how the room looks from the outside..nampak stiker angry birds kat sliding door tu??konon2 nye mak bapak dia kreatif lah tu deco bilik anak..sudahnye separuh jalan saje..dan kalau di zoom dekat sliding door tu, Rafique sebenarnya dah tambah deco tu dengan contengan pakai crayon!!cantik ohhhh..=P

ni bahagian dalam yang di zoom out..tiba2 hari ni rasa mood nak mendeco2 bilik Rafique kembali..i was thinking to buy a "study table" untuk Rafique..senang nak buat coloring etc..any idea untuk mendapatkan study table yang comel, murah dan ada 2 kerusi (at least)?? sbb boleh ibu duduk sekali teman rafique coloring.. dan hubby kata satu cara je nak suruh Rafique duduk main dlm playroom dia tu elok2, pasangkan aircond dlm bilik tu..pasal anak i ni tak tahan panas..putera lilin sangat..and i was like "helooo, x kuasa tahu takk..." over pulak nak aircond dalam bilik seciput di tu..

ok lahh..enough for today..cuba share sket idea nak deco2 bilik rafique ni..

beware : milk have expired date, so do your child car seat!!

this entry have been in my draft for long..berkepam sudah..asyek mempostpone untuk siapkan..since i have a friend asking about car seat, i guess its time to complete this entry..

i believe these days, most parents are aware tentang keselamatan anak2 ketika berada dalam kereta..walaupun Malaysia unlike other European countries yang dah ada undang2 tentang penggunaan car seat ni, yet its quite common to see car seat or car restraint system nowadays..mungkin jugak faktor we travel a lot these days..hantar anak pergi nursery sorang2, thus putting him in the car seat will be much easier instead of tiap2 hari kena menjerit sepanjang jalan back and forth of babysitter;'s house before work. right??

jadi, to mommy and mommy-to-be paling penting bila nak cari car seat for your loved ones, mesti pastikan dia adalah dari approved standard..ada banyak standard or guideline sebenarnya..ada ECE guideline, Canadian, German, New Zealand, Australian tapi rasanya semua pun lebih kurang je..semua boleh dipercayai..=) insyallah..

and what i actually wanna blabber about today adalah tentang expired date of the car seat itself. jangan ingat susu atau milo je ada expired date, car seat pun ada..usually ada ditulis dengan detail the manufaacturing date and life span dan segala details dalam manual lah..yang paling senang, masa nak beli, tengok manufactured date kat sticker belakang car seat yang korang nak beli tu..MAXIMUM life span adalah 6 tahun. maknanya 6 tahun dari manufacturing date. kalau korang nak beli bulan ni (May 2012) tapi manufacturing date yang tulis situ May 2011 and life span dia 6 tahun, maknanya korang boleh guna car seat tu for the next 5 years sahaja, sampai May 2017. kalau tahun 2018, ada rezeki, beranak lagi, sila beli car seat yang baru masa tu. jangan guna carseat abang long dia punye lagi ok..bahayaaaaa....

sebab ape i cakap bahaya? sama macam kereta jugak lah ye kawan2..wear n tear..absorber kete pun kena tukat every 2 years kan..tayar kete kena tukar every 1 year, jadi car seat ni tukar every 6 year, kira not bad lah kan??

so, if u all nak beli car seat 2nd hand, sila lah pastikan car seat punye manufacturing date dan jugak life span car seat tu dulu..kalau tuan dia cakap tak tahu, tok sah beli..bahayaaa...its just like putting your kids beside the time bomb..well, we are buying the cra seat for safety reason at the first place kan..jadi kenapa nak abaikan faktor keselamatan ni??hokayy..

another precaution yang perlu diambil kira adalah SALE time!!benda alah car seat ni yang pastinya harga bukan lah seperti sebijik Mc Chicken..jadi, buying during sale time adalah sangat ditunggu-tunggu oleh semua orang lah kan..again, please make sure the manufacturing date of the car seat. contohnya i bagi camni. sebuah carseat yang after discount harga dia RM400 with 2 years life span left (sbb manufacturing date 2-3 years back) and another car seat harga RM550 dengan life span 6 years..tentulah lagi berbaloi beli yang 550 tu walaupun sikit mahal tapi boleh guna lagi lama.after all, barang sale memang lah murah, tapi bukan semua barang kita boleh beli time sale..nama pun jualan penghabisan stok kan??maksudnya barang lama lah tu...understand?? bukan i cakap tak boleh beli..boleh kalau nak beli..tapi berjaga2, behati2 dan make an informed decision kata orang. jangan beli sebab murah semata-mata. tapi kalau nak beli baju yang end season (6tahun lepas punye design pun takpe) pasal baju takde expired date!hihi...

car seat yang mahal juga tak menjajikan longer life span..jadi, alasan konon2 beli car seat yang mahal, lalu boleh simpan dari anak sulung sampai anak ke-12 adalah sangat tidak boleh pakai. remember,  maximum life span of a car seat is 6 years ONLY! kalau u all beranak every year sekalipun, sampai anak nombor 5 je boleh pakai car seat yang sama, after that beli car seat baru.. ^__^

banyak betul i membebel ye hari ni. table kat bawah ni panduan untuk membeli car seat yang sesuai mengikut umur anak u ols..

and this type of car seat is hell no provide any safety protection to your child. sorry to say..

tak caye i cakap, sila baca sini..

budak 3 tahun pun ada Ipad, lu ada??

korang korang..i used to write about my sweet memories in school here

and if you do miss your primary school time too, do watch these videos.. its a real resemblance of your sweet time in school, i believe.. (provided you are 20 years old above)..kids these days might not even understand what they were doing in these videos..huhu..

intro tak kena dengan tajuk eh? takpe2..watch these videos first, then only you know why i said that.

i lagi suka the second video compared to the first one. it shows that we don't need facebook, we don't Blackeberry, i phone, i pad, PSP or what-so-ever to be happy back then. dapat beli pemadam 20 sen pun dah happy. dapat kaler pensel baru 12 batang pun dah happy, kalau 24 batang sengih sampai telinga, kalau dapat yang 48 batang punye kaler luna dalam kotak besi, sengih sampai telinga until next week..kannnn??

kids these days??? darjah 2 sibuk mintak i phone ngan mak bapak..sibuk tanya orang punye BBpin or twitter account..huhuhu..even umur belum 1 tahun pun kemain pandai kalau bagi i Pad or galaxy tab..sabar jer lah..i wonder how its going to look like when Rafique turns 10. seriusly can't imagine.

i was thinking about wajar ke ibu bapa belikan school-aged children all those expensive gadgets, yet my brother-in-law cakap even kids 2-3 years old in his son's kindie pun bawak i-pad!!!wohoooooo...hebattt!!takut pun iyer..kalau belikan, takut terdedah benda bukan2..kalau belikan yang mainan punyer tu (Ipad for kids) do you think they are that stupid??helloooo, dorang boleh bezakan lah i pad betul dengan i pad for kids tu..konfem tak nak punyer... kalau tak belikan, then kawan2 kat sekolah semua ada, timbul masalah low self-esteem laa, depression lah, atau lagi parah amek kawan punyer..wel..kids kan..there's a lot to expect.

it really makes me surprise when people even bought 1 pad khas untuk anak umur 1 tahun. or maybe its just become a surprise to someone yang tak banyak duit macam i lah kot..for those kaya raya maybe gadget RM 2-3K xde lah mahal mana pun..

i dont really have a point here..every parents must be thinking for what's best for their kids kan..just put what i'm thinking about in words. peace. so, ape pendapat korang pulak??meh borak meh.. ;)

what to expect on 19 months old toddler?

this is what you should expect when you read book for your 19 months old toddler..

x sampai 1 minit dia dah nak tutup buku..

kita baru muka surat 2, di dah sampai ke belakang.. ;-)

but we enjoy reading with rafique as much as he tries to close the book..hihi..

he start recognized all the animals and able to distinguish the sound of bird, duck, goat, cat etc (he even make the sounds) few months back. ibu dia jer yang tak update kat blog..

i was hoping to record him counting 1-10 (both in english and bahasa melayu)..we only taught him to count in english. bukan menduakan bahasa kebangsaan but i found it easier since one two three semuanya satu suku kata compared to satu, dua, tiga each involved 2 suku kata. normally babies tend to take suku kata akhir je kan..that's why i think in english would be easier. lucky to be Rafique his babysitter pun rajin mengajar. so, he get satu-sepuluh from his babysitter but still not-so-bahasa-melayu lah, its more in his own language..but he manage to count without skipping. what an achievement!

babies really have spongy brain.. i hope i'll have more time to teach rafique..

nak start dengan alif ba ta pulak..or maybe some dua'..

the "in" thing for parenting..

assalamualaikum dan selamat hari khamis yang membahagiakan buat semua staff gomen..sudah dapat gaji ye u ols??i belum..next week mungkin..rabu atau khamis pun belum pasti sebab kami xde jadual gaji macam orang gomen. untung lah jadi orang gomen..

sempena hari gaji u ols orang gomen dan tak lama lagi orang bukan gomen pun akan dapat gaji, i'm gonna share with u ols where SHOULD you spend your money wisely!hahaha..and of coz after spending on it, you won't regret it..

ever cross "babywearing"? this is very in-thing among parents nowadays tau..even celebrities "wear" their baby..

baby talks

ingat tak iklan dalam hot fm yang leya ada sebut bobok ninum etc tu??

i too dont favour baby talks..and thank God none of the family members (both side) use baby talks when conversing with Rafique...kita semua cakap dengan Rafique with normal language with him since he was born. the main objective adalah untuk elak Rafique jadi pelat like my brother..huhu.. some would say pelat is temporary tapi kalau boleh elak , why do we don't avoid kan? in fact my brother boleh cakap secara normal, at the age of 10. tua bangka baru boleh cakap elok2.sad..asyek kena ejek je time sekolah rendah.hikhik

i rasa Rafique adalah dalam kategori "ringan mulut" as he started to express himself using words since he was 11 months. currently at the age of 17 months, Rafique adalah semakin kuat menceceh..main sorang2 pun mulut macam bertih jagung (kata my mum lah)..masih banyak ambik suku kata akhir from a word..he clearly pronounce words with 1 suku kata. nak, sit, car, eat, shoe, ball, bird, goal, pay (play), book, cat, cow, fish, dog, no, tak, to (motor), di (CD), bu (ibu), yah (ayah), mimilk (milk) ship (sleep), mosh (mickey mouse), tish (teeth), bash (brush) etc. few words dengan 2 suku kata yang Rafique boleh sebut are : syen (lotion), nanak (tak nak) pinpin (upin ipin), ken (chicken), oshi (horse),ti (auntie), ke (uncle) bah (tok bah), nek (nenek), tok (atuk), mak (alamak! >> sambil pegang kepala. ni kes copy ibu lah ni)..

here are some tips for new mommies or perhaps mommies with kid yang lambat bercakap which i cilok from here.layanssss...

1. respond to your baby cries

2. have conversations with your baby

3. talk naturally with your baby

4. extend her language

5. talk to your baby about what you are doing with them

6. sing songs to them

7. read books

basically, banyakkan berkomunikasi with your baby sejak dari lahir lagi..i agree with all these tips sebab i pun pernah dan masih buat semua ni dengan Rafique..talk to him when drive him from bs place to our house..tunjuk bird, tunjuk car, tunjuk lori...describe the colour of the lorry..just to "introduce" vocab to them..

since Rafique baby, i memang suka bercakap dengan dia..i still remember my sister selalu cakap i sengal. sebab bila nak pakaikan baju rafique, masa dia baby dulu (sampai sekarang pun masih buat) i' akan cakap " right hand first, then left hand" masa nak masukkan baju or seluar..cakap nak pakai kan lotion..lotion bau wangi..just whatever. if u capture in the previous perenggan, rafique dah boleh sebut "syen" and comb too!! ;-)

don't get stress sebab xde masa sgt nak spend dengan anak..contoh for those who need to travel jauh2 daily for work, balik2 je anak dah tido atau ngantuk. just take few minutes yang ada tu, spent dengan cara berkualiti. borak dengan dorang to encourage their speech ability. its never too late!! masa weekend, bawak dorang gi jalan2 tu, jangan lah jalan je..talk to them..tunjuk ikan, ayam, sayur etc masa groceries shopping. my hubby really loves this outdoor teaching..siap bagi Rafique pegang lagi ayam, ikan, ketam kat tesco tu!!kemain lagi homeschooling session dia..

so, keyword of the day adalah BERCAKAP..I just love it!!senang.

some kids mungkin ada masalah lambat bercakap like my nephew..umur 3 tahun pun masih too little words he can say. but i believe, talking to the kids can help a lot. even kalau bawak jumpa specialist sekalipun, i guess there's no way out other than speech therapist - who actually talk to your kid. xde ubat yang boleh dimakan untuk encourage them talking.

i am not.sebab ada semangat baru sempena beli botol air dan fail pink..=)

pagi2 dah ke UPM jumpa supervisor menghantar items for presentation besok..moga company tersebut sudi sponsor the child home injury prevention kit itu for my research..amin...

weekend??

hectic as usual..and here some random pictures of my little captain buat tatapan auntie2 yang rindu rafique..=P

mende tah rafique kaler..ibu dia pun tak reti nak melukis..belasah jer lah..

anyway, puan ciare dah belikan crayon untuk yayen ke?? untuk menjawab soalan beliau, actually i dah start introduce rafique with pen, pencil and crayon masa dia less than 1 year old..his first hand writing at the age of 10 months, boleh tengok sini..;-)

for a start, i rasa crayon is the best..sbb crayon selalunya dia gemuk (bigger diameter compared to pen or pencil) jadi sesuai lah ngan jari comel yang kurang dexterity tu..marker pun boleh..ada marker pen yang easy to be cleaned up with water (in case terconteng sofa, meja, kerusi or perabot mahal u ols)..before beli please make sure lah all the crayons or magic pens or whatever material yang nak beli tu adalah non-toxic.sebab baby as usual adalah very tend to masukkan dalam mulut.

by the way, please expect dirts n mess yer kawan2 bile introduce colouring activities to your toddler..memang akan kotor..dan i rasa tak yah susah2 beli buku mewarna..korang beli kertas lukisan yang besar tu jer..bagi dorang freedom to create what ever they want..;-D ANDDDDD..supervision is a must ok..karang dia conteng sofa, jangan salahkan i k..hihihi..for their safety as well..takut dia masuk mulut ke, cucuk mata ke, cucuk lubang telinga, lubang hidung ke..mana lah nak tauu..ingat yer..kids love to explore.

current favourite book..animals!!! 20 kali sehari menyanyi lagu old mac donalds sekarang ni..

i found this video is very interesting..sangat bagus untuk improve our parenting skills..some of her way, mungkin ada yang kita dah practice tapi bagus jugak tengok untuk remind kita..manusia kan mudah lupa..yer tak??

some of the messages that i've captured from these video adalah kena banyakkan komunikasi dengan anak..borak dengan dorang even from they are still small..borak every little thing happen in our life..yang paling comel Wardina jadikan anak dia tempat untuk dia mengadu tentang penat kerja etc..just to create the habit of experience sharing..i think that is very brilliant..sebab tak ramai anak yang willing to share their stories especially bila dah masuk alam remaja..i think its a good way to build trust..supaya anak tahu yang mereka boleh share everything in their life with their parents..=)

perbaiki diri dan sentiasa belajar dan cari ilmu on parenting..these days kan kita banyak sangat dok surfing internet..tak payah beli buku pun..click jer kat google, macam2 keluar..jadi daripada dok tengok benda2 tak berfaedah, lagi bagus we learn something that can improve ourselves..and for the benefits of our family..tak gitu??gosip pun bolehhh..tapi sikit2 dah ler..hihi..

learning pun tak semestinya dengan membaca or attend courses, i prefer informal way to learn like sharing with other parents..dengan kawan2 yang ada anak sebaya dengan anak kita..reading blog is another way because we can learn from other's experience. its not necessary untuk telan bulat2 ape jer yang orang tulis..sebab lain orang lain kefahaman nya..dan lain jugak surrounding as well as sifat anak2 kita, so adapt and adopt lah according to your necessity.

penggunaan bahasa yang positif pun penting jugak..avoid using negative words..dulu i pernah cerita pasal penggunaan words such as "no" "dont" etc and now it's about using the correct words bila kita marah..jangan gunakan perkataan nakal, jahat etc but guna perkataan yang positif yang baik2 ajer walaupun masa kita tengah marah..

and the lasr point to emphasize here adalah sebelum tidur cium anak dan bagi nasihat..part cium tu memang bertalu2 lah cium..tp tak penah pulak i buat bercakap ngan Rafique time dia tengah tido..kena mula lah lepas ni..=)

dulu kan..masa Rafique kecik2 (macam lah sekarang dah besar sangat) i suka pasangkan Pocoyo..Rafique pun layan jer..tapi bila dia dah mula merangkak, busy exploring dia dah reject watching tv, videos etc except for tengok sports game particularly football..but now dia dah mula suka balik tengok tv..

i takde lah happy sangat dia suka tengok tv..i know its not that good for kids development..tapi xde lah strict sampai tak boleh tengok langsung..lagipun setakat mana sangat nak kawal sebab kat rumah babysitter dia konfem2 akak tu memang pasangkan cartoon untuk anak2 dia..

eh. i bukan nak cerita pasal advantage n disadvantage of tv to kids but i wanna share some of Rafique's favourite nursery rhymes and and his current favourite cartoon..selalu pasang kat youtube jer pun..i selalu pasangkan nursery rhymes from Barney collection..

i selalu ingat nak amek video time nyanyi2 ngan Rafique ni..i love wathing him enjoy singing (in his own language, and laughs and dance bontot terkedek2) tapi selalu nyanyi2 sambil buat benda lain..so, susah sket..like masa tengah mandi cemane nak amek video..pastu ibu pulak seksi meksi kan..so, no no no lah buat masa ni..

in my opinion singing with baby is a way to help them building their vocabs and at the same time we're all having fun..tapi ibu ngan ayah kena lah buat homework sket, belajar nursery rhymes..some of the famous like old mac donald, twinkle2 little star tu memang dah biasa dengar..tapi untuk menambah variety sesuai dengan tujuan kita nak build up vocab anak..tak susah pun nak belajar..kat you tube berlambak..tapi i highly suggest tengok video2 barney..biasanya siap ada lyrics sekali..and mommy kena lah creative sket contohnya tambah bunyi binatang2 yang dia suka to "old mac donald"..

my hubby pun jenis slow sikit nak tangkap lyrics ni..tp bila selalu dengar i nyanyikan untuk Rafique, dia pun dah boleh nyanyikan untuk Rafique..i dengan hubby memang focus on english dulu for Rafique..bukan nak berlagak ke or nak banggakan bahasa orang lain tapi i believe Rafique will learn bahasa melayu from other resources.from her babysitter and grandparents for instance and of course friends in school later on..takdelah nak suruh anak i cakap british accent pulak, mak bapak dia pun masih berterabur jugak english nya..but we are trying to give him our best..insyaallah..

other than nursery rhymes, rafique pun dah mula suka tengok kartun sekarang ni..but we still control lah the duration..kalau weekdays cukup la kot dia tengok tv kat rumah babysitter dia..during weekend bagi laa dia tengok masa i dok kemas mengemas dan ayah dia pulak sibuk membuta..hikhik..kartun favourite Rafique sekarang ni Upin & Ipin..=) see.sape kata i mendouble standard kan bahasa melayu???

ini lah kartun yang i rasa sangat berjaya dibuat oleh orang Malaysia..comel upin ipin ni..pastu pulak kartun dia ada message n kind of islamic sket..because of upin ipin lah, asal nampak makanan mesti Rafique tadah tangan..kan upin ipin baca doa masa sebelum berbuka puasa tu..kalau dengar orang baca bismillah dari jauh pun Rafique tadah tangan..=) tapi belum sempat u habes baca bismillah, dia dah "amin.." dah pun..hahaha..

by the way, i seboleh mungkin tapis cartoon to be watched by Rafique..sebab i rasa cartoon macam ultraman ke ben10 tu macam takde pekdah jer..huhu..offense, just my 2 cents. i know tak mungkin kita dapat kawal semua tu forever..but at least selagi mampu kawal, kita kawal la..

today is the second day at school for school children all over Malaysia. every kids must be very excited with new uniform and new stationeries..Barbie theme??Ben 10 theme??Smurfs theme??you just name it, you'll find it!!hihi..

well, obviously the parents are excited too!!especially for those with kids first time entering kindergarten or primary school.mummy (ehem!) had been busy searching, studying, googling the best school in town which meets their listed never-ending criteria just to make sure your children get the best..am i right??don't deny this.because i've did that even Rafique still have 5 years before entering formal kindy.blame the motherly-feeling inside me.

today, i'm gonna share with mommies one of the criteria that we should look at when finding the best school for our children which is S.A.F.E.T.Y!!

Here's the list that you should ask yourself (at least) when considering the safety factors at school..

1. Is student safety a priority for your school and your community?
2. Do parents have access to reports that include information about the number of violent or other unsafe incidents at the school?
3. Does your school have procedures for responding quickly to unsafe situations?Is your the school have a traffic controller in charge?
4. Is the school have a drop off zone?
5. is the bicycle parking area located nearby the vehicles drop-off zone?
6. Are counselors and psychologists available to work with students who are troubled or disruptive?
7. Are school facilities attractive and hazard-free?
8. Is safety addressed in all aspects of the school program-the cafeteria, physical education, classrooms, playgrounds, after-school programs, etc.

i don't know if somebody think that i've gone too much of listing these here, its just my two cents..but i bet no parents is willing to put their children in the situation which might be dangerous. if we can be fussy in choosing the suitable syllabus for the children, the physical attractiveness that so-called can stimulate our children's development, then why don't we be fussy on safety issues as well??

AT LEAST, the school management and PARENTS should have been aware about all possible dangers inside or nearby the school compound. and do something about it..hopefully..

Kids are not small adults. they can't take good care of themselves. adults have to!!

ur childs dental health is ur responsibility!

ini entry susulan cerita budak suka hisap berus gigi..i've being asked when should we start to take care of our baby's dental health..

personally i mula concern about rafique's dental health since he start his solid food at 4 months old..iyer..rafique starts his solid well before he turns 6 months coz i believe giving him solid foods (fruits) is much better than FM..because masa tu i got problem with milk supply..and rafique started to refuse frozen EBM.#this is personal preference yer kawan2.no heart feelings.peace.

since rafique was introduced to fruits as his 1st solid food maka i rasa i perlulah gosok gusi dia untuk menjaga kesihatan mulut dia..fruits kan contain fructose..which is sugar..kalau ikut logic, makan gula tak gosok gigi nanti gigi rongak kannnn???

at that very moment i guna Spiffies baby toothwipes to clean his gums everytime after meal..kalau ibu sengkek,stock spiffies pulak abes time tu, i guna je cara tradisional..basahkan sket lampin putih tu dan lap2 lah gusi dia..tp jgn kuat2..lembut2 jerrr..and from what i read here, you can even start to take care of your baby's dental care ever since he was born..when he was teething i use the chewable toothbrush yang berfungsi 2 dalam 1 sebagai toothbrush dan jugak teether..=)

spiffies boleh didapati from tiny tapir..tempat lain i tak tahu..rm50 for 3 boxes kalau beli time baby fair.

i start to introduce him with toothbrush when his very first tooth shows.untuk yang belum tahu, toothbrush for baby ada banyak stage yer kawan2..pergi je kat toothbrush section, u'll see ada yang tulis stage 1 : 6-12 months, stage 2 : 12-24 months bla bla bla sampai stage berapa tah utk 5 years ++...ada gak yang main taram sekali harung 6-24 months..tp i prefer jenis yang dia classify the toothbrush utk shorter period of use..mcm stage by stage i cakap tu..because i believe babies are going on rapid growth.jadi, sama jugak dengan kekuatan gusi dorang..gusi baby 6 months tentu lah tak sama ngan gusi toddler 2 years old.rite??? jadi at each stage of toothbrush, tahap kelembutan berus adalah berbeza. so do the size of the toothbrush.

i guna ubat gigi kodomo lion perisa orange for rafique..i rasa ini yang buatkan dia jadi suka berus gigi..pasal dia dok hisap ubat gigi tu..but don't worry..i've checked that it is safe to be "eaten"..provided korang jangan lah letak banyak sangat..for baby less than 2 years old, just put a smear of toothpaste saje..for above 2 years old, letak ubat gigi sebesar size biji kacang ajer..

left : smear of toothpaste for less than 2 years old.

right : peapod size of toothpaste for 2 years above.

masa awal2 introduce berus gigi, rafique memang tak nak jugak gosok gigi..dia tutup mulut rapat2 when i asked him to open..hihi..naughty baby..but then, i bought berus gigi comel2 mashimaro design to excite him to brush. dan semestinya perlukan continuous effort..setiap kali masuk bilik air mesti mula dengan brush teeth..even masa wash poo poo..just to correlate the toothbrushing event with toilet event..;-)

anyway, walaupun your kid nak gosok gigi sendiri, still you have to brush their teeth..sebab anak 1 tahun x kan kot pandai berus gigi sendiri sampai bersih..mesti lah ada "missed spots"..jadi kita lah kena make sure semua bahagian mulu including their tongue diberus supaya semua kekotoran dikeluarkan. Rafique used to refuse this too..dan cara yang i buat adalah, i berus gigi sama2 dengan dia..then, when the real cleaning part comes, i asked him to help me brush my "missed spots"..lepas turn dia tolong berus gigi kita, kita pulak tolong berus gigi dia..surprisingly, it works at the very first time tau!!

petua from my MIL untuk bagi gigi anak kuat, berus gigi dia dengan air garam..i cant deny this because my MIL's children really do have strong tooth.my hubby for instance, guna gigi dia je untuk bukak penutup besi botol kicap masa baru beli.x yah pakai bottle opener..huhu.. scientifically, ada logicnya laa..sebab garam kan Natrium Chloride..

tips : mendidik anak2..

being a mommy to a toddler is seriously demanding..well, they do demand 150% attention from us, 24/7!!fhewww..kalau tak kuat iman, memang boleh buat kita hilang sabar..especially first time mommy, bekerja pulak tuh..there's sooo many things to get done in the house plus our genius little explorer adalah menuntun kesabaran dan kekuatan mental fizikal yang tak terkata..

as parents, of coz we always wants the best for our child kan??bukan setakat dari segi materials, tapi yang paling penting cara didikan yang baik..kadang2 bila Rafique do things that he should not do, i am confused..patut ke marah??kalau dah cakap banyak kali, tapi he still ignore, patut ke pukul??dalam dok pikir2 tu kadang terlepas gak tinggikan suara or terbabab tangan tu!!hihi..pastu, rasa bersalah..

me n hubby cuba untuk tak overspoil Rafique..we try to emphasize on rules..especially on things that may be dangerous to him..he can play "games" like kumbah cupboard or kitchen cabinet provided he needs to help tidying up after the "play" session..toddlers kan..what to expect??they really love to explore..membazir je beli mainan mahal2..kabinet dapur mak jugak yang paling dia suka!!but when it comes to things that might endanger him, STRICTLY NO!! play with plug points or electrical equipments for examples..

bila hubby yang "marah" dia (we try not to pukul yet) i akan diam ataupun explain to him in softer voice tone that what he did was dangerous..sebab pada i, kalau sorang marah dan sorang lagi pujuk, its kind of show him that "ohh..ayah je marah.ibu ok jer" perception..i am afraid, nanti in future he will go like "takpe kalau aku buat pun..there must be someone back-up aku"..that is why me n hubby perlu seia sekata just to show him ape yang dia buat tu memang salah dan tak patut dibuat..after few minutes, bila dia dah stable from his tantrum, then only the one yang marah Rafique tadi akan pujuk dia balik..and the reason is, we don't want him to understand that we got angry because we dont love him...

itu lah cara yang diaplikasikan buat masa ni..setakat ni Rafique punye tantrum masih bearable..tak tahulah in future..harap tak progress ke arah yang makin teruk laa..especially depan orang..huhuhu..i pun join nanges nanti!!

hurm..itu cara i lah..cara u all macam mana pulak??

by the way, masa blogwalking i jumpa satu blog yang share tips2 untuk didik anak..so here i share it again with u all pulak..moga kita semua akan berjaya memberi didikan terbaik kepada anak2 tersayang..

1. jangan pukul anak dari lutut ke atas >> never knew this before..i selalu babab rafique kat tangan sebab tangan yang buat "keje"..tadi i ada jumpa gak, the best place untuk pukul anak adalah kat tapak kaki..ada kaitan dengan reflexology ape tah..macam boleh bagi rangsangan kepada otak.wallahualam..=)
2. jangan gunakan tangan/anggota badan kita untuk pukul anak sebab anak akan jadi lebih degil.. >> oh oh..tak tahu jugak about this..tapi kalau pakai rotan, macam kejam jer...kalau babab pakai tangan pun, babab2 manja jer..hurmmm...kena tukar approach lah lepas ni..
3. berikan anak nama yang baik, kerana nama yang kurang baik akan menyebabkan anak rasa rendah diri..
4. berikan anak anda pelukan setiap hari..kajian menunjukkan anak yang sentiasa di peluk mempunyai IQ yang lebih tinggi berbanding yang jarang dipeluk.
5. pandanglah anak dengan pandangan kasih sayang kerana itu akan membuatkan anak lebih yakin diri.
6. berikan hadiah setiap kali anak anda membuat sesuatu yang baik.. >> i rasa yang ni tak perlu kita bagi hadiah yang mahal bagai..just puji, peluk, cium pun ok..just to show dia di hargai dan disayangi..=)
7. jangan mengharapkan anak yang kecil itu melakukan kebaikan secara berterusan. >> they are just kids anyway!!
8. apabila anda berhadapan dengan masalah kerja dan keluarga, pilihlah keluarga..>> syukur hubby pun pilih keluarga..and he make my tears when he says "i kawen sebab nak u selalu depan mata i..kalau i pulak pergi keje jauh2, buat ape kawen??" ohh..terharu..=)
9. di dalam mambesarkan anak2, jangan sesekali mengeluh kerana keluhan membuatkan mereka rasakan diri sebagai bebanan..>> insaf kejap..eh, kekadang tulis rafique lasak kat blog bukan mengeluh..just to describe my feelings.hurmm..ke sama ek??hihi
10. tenangkan anak anda setiap kali mereka memerlukannya.
11. tunjukkan anak anda cara untuk menenangkan diri.mereka akan mengikutnya. >> kids memang pandai imitate us kan??i need to improve on this..;-P
12. Kemungkinan anak kita menerima sesuatu pelajaran bukan pada kali pertama, jadi ajarlah mereka berkali-kali.
13. luangkanlah masa bersama anak di luar rumah, pegang tangan anak apabila berjalan.mereka akan rasa kehadiran mereka dihargai.
14. hargailah mainan kesayangan anak2 walaupun sudah rosak.jangan buang tanpa izin mereka.insyaallah mereka juga akan hargai barang2 anda.
15. jangan biarkan anak tidur tanpa ciuman selamat malam.
16. terimalah bahawa kita bukan ibu bapa yang sempurna.kita akan kurang stress dengan menerima hakikat itu.
17. jangan selalu membawa kerja pejabat pulang ke rumah.
18. anak menangis untuk melegakan keresahan mereka, kadang2 cuma untuk sound effect je.tapi dengarlah tangisan mereka kerana 20 tahun akan datang anda pulak akan menangis kesunyian bila anak2 dah meninggalkan anda keseorangan atas kehendak tugasan mereka.
